Planners: Well Planned Gal

Planners aren't exactly curricula, but they are, for us at least, essential. I'm a former scheduler for a U.S. Senator and my husband is a producer for a computer game company. Scheduling is in our blood! There are hundreds of options to choose from and some folks are perfectly happy printing or using their own using Excel or Google calendar. I prefer written planners, however. I don't remember when I heard about Well Planned Gal, but I have used her "Well Planned Day" homeschool planners for the past three years. This year will be my fourth year organizing my homeschool with her planner. I love the large blank spaces that I can customize as needed, the little weekly tips, and the pretty designs. I get so very little "girlie" influences in my life, it's nice to have flowers and butterflies occasionally!

Here is a picture of my initial planning for the first week of September:

As you can see there are plenty of lines for lesson planning.

The front few pages of the planner give suggestions for how to use it. There are also pages to plan the yearly courses for your students:

At the start of each month there are also pages to record field trips, books read, and monthly goals:

On her site, Well Planned Gal, you can also find Four Year High School planners for help with transcripts, portfolios, and course planning, and student planners. I have always been happy with the planners purchased at that site.
